Remove the battery; disassemble the radio including the antenna, frame, circuit board, conductive rubber, etc.; clean it with absolute alcohol and leave it to dry.

Will it damage the battery to continue charging after the indicator turns green?

No, it will not. Lithium battery voltage is less than 8.4 v. Charging termination voltage is decided by the lithium battery charger and the radio's protection board. It is the main means of voltage detection. When the charge voltage reaches the valve value, the circuit inside the charger or lithium battery protection board switch tube will be shut down immediately. Then the charging indicator turns green and continuing to charge will not damage the battery.
