Background 

The lack of two-way radio interoperability between the various tow truck companies that service the greater Philadelphia area presented communicational challenges.With over 400 units of M50 mobile radios deployed in tow  trucks, several T 350 hand-held radios being used by supervisors, and numerous dispatch consoles in use by their  front offices, 25 individual tow truck companies can now communicate with each other instantly and conveniently. This  advanced connectivity gives them the capability of collaborating to perform their services with greater efficiency and precision, which allows them to maximize road safety across a large portion of Philadelphia.

Challenge 

The lack of two-way radio interoperability between the various tow truck companies that service the greater  Philadelphia area presented communicational challenges that were hindering them from being able to coordinate  timely responses. 

They required a robust, scalable communication solution in order to respond to incidents quickly and remove  inoperable vehicles from highly used roadways.
