Background
The Tesla Berlin factory was built in 2021, and communication equipment is needed internally for the preparation and communication of the new construction. Our agent recommended the public T60 machine, and the user's on-site testing feedback was very good. The first batch of T60 was applied on site.
In May 2022, the factory was officially put into operation. With the development of business, users need to add communication equipment for communication in various work links of the factory. However, after on-site inspection by the agent, it was found that the internal building structure of the factory severely blocks the broadband network. Based on the actual usage environment of this user, our company has designed a public private network integration solution.
In areas with poor coverage of the original public network, a new private network DMR product DP480 has been added. The original public network product and the new private network product can be integrated through our company's public and private network gateway TM840 Gateway to achieve interconnection and interoperability, thereby ensuring perfect coverage of the entire communication network in the factory area. After testing, the user feedback shows that the usage effect is satisfactory, and the expanded DP480 is in place.
Solution
When Tesla cleared around half of the 740 acres of land it owned to build its Gigafactory in Berlin, Kirisun's local partner recommended Push-to-talk over Cellular (PoC) solution to facilitate the mega construction project. Kirisun PoC radios T60 were adopted. After the factory officially started to operate in May 2022, more users needed push-to-talk devices to optimize group communications across the complex, where Kirisun's partner found there were blind spots in carriers' cellular coverage during a site survey. Therefore, Kirisun designed the convergent network by using its TM840 gateway, which connects the PoC radio in the cellular network and DMR radios DP480 in the private network. Currently, Wi-Fi coverage is being set up across the factory, and the factory will test Kirisun's convergent push-to-talk over cellular/Wi-Fi/DMR solution.
